Hi all! Perhaps you remember Jørn Wildt's discussion about the future of Postnuke and his ideas about a professional content module. Some of you might have already found it: Jørn release a first version of "Content" http://noc.postnuke.com/projects/content/ Demo This module is supposed to meet all basic requirements and it is flexible for programmers and designers to extend: You can choose a layout for every article. Jørn already included "1 colum", "2 columns with header and footer", and "3 columns with header and footer". But those are only templates - you can simply add your own layout and remove the standard ones. Within these layouts you can then place content elements: text, images (from medishare), videos (youtube), maps (Google) These content elements are plugins that consist of only little code and once your programmer knows what they do, he can build you custom plugins for content from other modules for example. If you have a pnCommerce shop running and want some special feature about a special group of articles you can write your article in content and place several functioning shopping kart buttons in the text. Example: You sell cigarettes in your shop and you want to have a special feature article about all the brands that famous people smoked. You can write your text and in between the paragraphs you can place a brief article information and a kart button (when someone writes an according plugin) and you can also include video clips from youtube where these people are shown smoking. Jørn is currently working on real multilingualism: You can not only choose which language an article is - you can also publish translations of articles which have the same URL and only show the translations depending on the language you chose. This basicly works but is not really easy to uses as you actively have to translate every element - but we have an idea for a better workflow. I have included basic hook support (display/transform) in the SVN version. So 1.1.0 does not support hooks! As "Content" is in a pretty early stage it is best to collect feedback now and change basic things now before we build in the million other features we have on the list. Please install Content, test it a bit and give us feedback. If you find a bug - put it into the bugtracker If you miss a feature - put it into the feature request tracker If you have some general feedback on usability aso - comment here please.
